John Quincy Porter (JQP) is a Cascadia-based singer-songwriter whose roots trace back to singing in English cathedrals as a boy and falling in love with Sgt. Pepper’s at age seven. A self-taught guitarist and lifelong student of melody, JQP blends Americana, blues, and rock into soulful, story-driven songs shaped by influences like The Beatles, Grateful Dead, and Van Morrison. He’s played in countless bands across the years and continues to perform with Blind Stampede and other local projects. In 2025, JQP launched his Happy Friday Song series—releasing a new original every week—sharing his lived-in voice and timeless songwriting with a growing audience.
